The Art of Negotiation

Find the PAIN point.

In a nutshell . . .

I know it sounds pretty simple but yet it is.

If you can find the client/guest/customer’s PAIN point all you need to do is address it and keep closing until you have a deal.

Let me explain.

Finding your clients pain point is as simple as asking questions? Not interrogating but simply asking questions that will

lead you to where you want to go.

  1. What do you like best about what you currently own?
  2. Tell me how that looks?
  3. What would you like to see different in your next one?

Once you can find out the “Why” behind the reason they are with you, that is their pain point.

Now present your product or service with how it can solve their pain point and ask for their business.

I know simple eh? Very . . . but most people negotiating talk too much and don’t listen to their

customers needs. The customer will tell you everything if you just ask the right questions.

More on this to come.

Closing the sale handshake.
Let’s get this sale done.

Well “they” say “Motivation” is not permanent. And that is so true but neither is bathing but you do that daily.

Quoted by Zig Ziglar

This sentiment is to true. What it means is motivation, well not permanent must be done

on a daily basis. A friend of mind once said that he has a sales meeting everyday.

I said everyday? He said yes everyday. He then proceeded to tell me that he looks

in the mirror everyday and gives himself a pep talk. He said he would look

in the mirror and say things like, Sell or be Sold, I’m either selling or I am being sold.

And what he meant by that was if he wasn’t able to close a sale it was because

the prospect was better at selling him why he didn’t or couldn’t  or won’t buy the product/service

that he was selling.

You need to stay motivated so unless your putting good things in (your head)

like books, audiobooks, training, webinars, seminars you won’t stay up.

You must continually feed yourself positive information even affirmations

before you go to bed. I know that sounds funny or even corny but it works.

Zig Ziglar for many many years sold pots and pans door to door. He got good

at it by accepting rejection daily but he always kept telling himself that he was

one step closer to a “yes” after he received a “no” from a prospect.

So motivation is not permanent and must be continually developed to build

the mindset of a winner. It can be done – stay focused, stay positive.…
